What about the wide spectrum of appeal? Garcia continues to build a fan base with young kids today. My son makes three generations of Dead fans in the family. My father took me to RFK 6/10/73 when I was 11.
A slight twist to consider - there is a huge variety of political belief in here. Some are hard core right, some are hard core left, and the rest are in between. There were some pretty spirited conversations on the board going up to and after the election - some were downright nasty - but I don't think anybody lost sight of the common undercurrent running through everybody's shorts - we all enjoy the Dead a great deal.
I think Jer would think that is pretty freakin' cool.
